An excellent tale of giving being a precondition for receiving (5.0)

This is a delightful tale of Christmas, where the act of giving means that you are receiving. On Christmas Eve, Thomas is a man in a hurry. When he pushes aside a beggar to enter a candle shop, he is also curt with the proprietor, calling him foolish and an old man. When the man sells him a candle for four coppers and says, "... you may find it costly", Thomas shouts at the man.
The trip home is one where he encounters poor people and "sees" them as his beloved relatives. He gives them all he has; yet when he gets home, his relatives are fine. This causes a major awakening so he leaves the comfort of his destination and goes back out to take care of another.
The lesson here is strong and clear, kindness begets kindness and sometimes the greatest level of receipt is when we give. It is an excellent book for young children during the Christmas season.

Did not think the book was worth the money I paid for it. It has 12 pages. If I had known that, I would'nt have purchased it.

I have many small books by Evans and enjoyed all. The Christmas Candle is no exception. It is a warm enjoyable story which can be appreciated by all ages. My reading group reads one each year during the holidays.

This review is not for the candle itself, which is amazing, although overpriced. It is for Yankee Candle's extremely poor customer service. They took over 3 weeks to ship my order, and when I called and sent emails, they were rude and unhelpful. They didn't answer my questions or adequately address my concerns. They said they would refund my shipping cost, but haven't as of yet, after numerous calls and emails. Several times I tried to call and couldn't even get through- got a busy signal or a recording saying the wait would be over 30 minutes!! So I actually had to call a different department and talk to someone who didn't know anything about their shipping/customer service policies. Ridiculous! I will never order from them again, which is a real shame, since I love their candles!

Christmas Wreath candle (5.0)

When you first open this candle, you get a distinct smell of fresh cut pine boughs. When I first experienced this candle, I was looking all over for the pine tree or pine decorations. It really smells like a fresh Christmas wreath and it's worth every penny. Now I don't have to buy evergreen boughs for my home just to get the Christmas tree smell.

I got these candles for my sister, who is a big fan of Nightmare before Christmas. They arrived quickly and in great condition. Nice gift for anyone who loves this movie!

The melting point was low enough that it relaxed my muscles without burning me. It's not everyday I get hot wax poured on my back (I didn't know what to expect). Sets a nice mood, especially in the dark.

I love Greenfire candles for myself, but I don't always know what scents other people like. I've gotten many of these five-packs for gifts for female friends and relatives, and they are the perfect gift! The packaging is so cute, too! And it lets the person figure out what scent they like the best.

At the beginning it was scary to pour the wax on the skin because I thought it will be very hot, but it's warm and nice and has a great fragrance as well.

Smells like the holiday season! (4.0)

This candle is AMAZING! It burns well, smells delicious without being too perfumey and overpowering. It has a nice clean, pine/spruce smell that is indicative of the holiday season. This candle gets a 4, because like most fragranced candles it leaves soot on the glass. It's an easy fix with a swipe of a napkin sprayed with some windex or other cleaner before each use. Otherwise it burns very nicely and looks pretty in the glass container it comes in.
