a must read for every man (5.0)
My wife bought me this book as I would personally never think about buying such a book. I had no choice but to read it. I was really surprised to learn about what women want to receive as gifts and, except for maybe flowers, those are generally things I never bought my wife (which is probably why she bought me the book). The book is based on a survey of over 1000 women and it gives not only the top things women want to receive as a gift, but also what you should not give to a woman. Most of the time, I've done the contrary of what's in this book which is why I give it 5 stars and recommend it to all men. It's really worth your time and money.
very pleased (5.0)
I sent this as a sympathy gift for my bosses wife when her mother passed away... she absolutely loved it.. it was something to make her feel good while mourning, instead of filling her house with flowers and plants that die. A great price for a nicely thought-out group of items.
Great service and on-time delivery. (5.0)
Great baby gift basket. I bought 2 of these, both were very well received by the respective recipients. I would buy from this company again.
perfect girly umbrella (5.0)
This is exactly what I've been looking for to give my bridesmaids for my wedding next year. I'm hoping it doesn't rain, but if it does, we will be prepared with this cheery bright red parasol-type umbrella -- it had a girly, frilly ruffle around the edges and that cute hook-shaped handle. All the 'real' parasols that I've seen can't be used in the rain so they just won't do. This umbrella well keep the rain off the girls AND look great in the pictures. I'm very pleased with this purchase.
Singing (and Styling ;-) in the Rain! (5.0)
I just LOVE this cheery umbrella! With its beautiful shape, feminine ruffle, and bright red color, it certainly turns a drab rainy day into a colorful, fun one....I found myself anxiously awaiting a rainy day just so I could go out and use it. My hubby & pooches loved it, too, because we all fit under it and they didn't have their walks cut short due to inclement weather ;-)
Beautiful jewlery box (5.0)
It is a beautiful jewlery box, but I used it on a bridal shower party to put the gift envelops, I got many complements. It is worth the price. I recommend it.
Interesting! (3.0)
A little confusing. Need to be patient to learn how it all works. Helpful. Interesting. However, it may not be your way of writing a book. But that is okay.
Inferior Product & Customer Service (1.0)
Do not bother to buy this product if you are running Windows Vista, especially on a new PC with a 64 bit operating system. I emailed the company prior to purchase to make sure it would run on my PC. They would not say whether or not it would work on my PC or not, just that if it did not, they offer a money-back guarantee. How could I lose, right? Where is my money? The money-back guarantee turned out to be only as good as their word, which was worthless. I am now out $60 for software I cannot use. All I can do now is warn other potential buyers to stay away from this product.
NewNovelist 2.0, is it really needed? (2.0)
I'm an old amateur writer. I thought I wanted to write a novel. But when starting it, after awhile, I realized that most of what the software does, I could do on Word. I decided not to waste my senior years on a book and then not sell it. It's more fun and productive to try and produce short stories, articles and poems that magazines are willing to publish. The same thing can be done with or without the software; it just takes will power and structure, with persistence. The screen on the software I did not like. It was small and the words would cut off at the end, in other words the screen is too small. Yet I've read where some writers love it. So when I decide to sell it, I will, for half price. My wife bought it for me, so I have to have a time frame here before I try to sell it.
Beware Vista users (1.0)
If you're running Vista and you purchase newnovelist 2.0, be prepared for the window "NewNovelist 2.0 has stopped working" and "please wait while windows searches for a solution to this problem" to pop up. You click ok, and then another window pops up "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notifty you if a solution is available." The software absolutely will not run. I have been using windows based computers since 1990, I uninstalled and reinstalled the software correctly, same result. I checked the FAQ's on Newnovelist's website, and my user account control was turned on, as specified in their FAQ. I am an experienced computer user, this should not occur with software that is truly compatible with Vista. It notes on the box "Vista Compliant". I'm guessing that's marketing-speak for "not really compatible, but something close." I then sent them an email explaining this problem. And now I'm just waiting. I'll let you know if I receive a satisfactory answer or a solution to the program not functioning on a Vista computer, but if you are running Vista, I would not recommend you purchase this software.
Stop! Your notes are on THEIR server (1.0)
Please note. When you enter your notes on your characters, plot ideas, etc. you are housing your creative ideas on their server. Why is this not on my own computer? I'm afraid they are stealing our ideas to make a story of their own. You have to be hooked up to the internet to even write your novel. This is not ok.
