Seemingly Good Product (5.0)

Seemingly a good product. It arrived yesterday on time, packaged well and in good shape. I checked the battery indicator built into the battery and three led's lit up. I inserted into my Dell Latitude D830 which recognized it immediately, the Dell indicated it had a 58% charge and was charging. An hour later it was fully charged at 100%. Today it is still charged and sitting at 100%. I have no complaints, this same battery at dell would have cost over 160.00 with tax and shipping.

Its give about 3 hrs on maximum power. I am sure it varies how you use your laptop but for me its 3 hours. So far it works great and the price is great too but lets see how long this battery last.

I bought this product and it did not work well. It charged only to 59% and it did not work. I do not recommend to buy this product, I was worried about it damaging my computer.

Quality replacement battery (4.0)

I read some other reviews and based on others' feedback decided to purchase this 9 cell replacement battery for my daughter's Dell latitude PC. The battery is made in China but performs as well as the OEM. I am absolutely satisfied with this battery and its performance. It arrived within a week of purchase. I paid a little more for this one relative to the prices for some of the other replacement batteries but based on the various reviews this seemed to be a better quality product. It's still a lot less expensive than the replacements from Dell.

This battery worked great out of the box -- it held its charge for the same amount of time as the Dell brand battery had when it was new. After about a month of use, the battery's ability to hold a charge declined significantly. Now at just under two months, it only holds 1/5th of the charge it originally held.

I have a Dell Latitude D830, and I take good care of my laptop batteries. I don't leave them in hot places, on the shelf, or continuously drain and recharge them. In other words, this battery went through minimal stress but still failed. Accordingly, based on my experience and the feedback of others on Amazon, I recommend that you should not purchase this battery.

Made my laptop portable again (4.0)

The original battery for my Dell D830 gave up the ghost after 2-1/2 years of use. I was quite surprised to find a compatible replacement battery on Amazon for a fraction of the price that Dell was charging for their product. I calculated that if I could get even a few months of use out of it, then the battery would pay for itself in savings. After three months of use, the battery is still going strong and I'm very happy with how it performs. Prior to purchasing this, my laptop would last less than 20 minutes before reporting a low battery warning. Today I get at least three hours of typical use on a charge before I have to plug back in. I don't think I've even seen the low battery warning more than once since I installed it.

The D830 is known to be easier on batteries than the D820 that preceded it. I believe the latter draws more current and/or runs hotter than even the original Dell batteries were designed for, causing a lot of users to be very unhappy when their batteries failed after less than a year. My wife's D820 went through three original (expensive) Dell batteries in the time that it took my D830 to chew through my first one. In short, if you have a D820, then you may save yourself a lot of frustration by retiring it in favor of a better laptop.

There seem to be several suppliers of this product and not all may be shipping the same quality product. Mine shipped out from BrilliantStore and the experience so far has been terrific.

Great Replacement Battery for Latitude D820 So Far (5.0)

I received this battery about 2 and a half weeks ago and I couldn't be happier with it. The fit is perfect for the Dell Latitude D820 to start with. I've had my laptop for over 3 years and the battery that came with it has been pretty much useless for the past year and a half. I use it heavily between home and a docking station at work so it's hard for me to fault the original battery.

Followed the instructions that were provided with the battery, charging it fully overnight the first 3 times. Whether or not it makes a difference? I don't know, but I figured I would give it a shot. I went from getting about 30 minutes of laptop use to over 3 and a half hours on a balanced scheme with the screen brightness turned down. I have several programs running at once and still get the great battery life.

I will revisit this review in a a few months to update how the battery has held up. Overall, I am very happy with this battery.

The battery fits perfectly in my Dell Precision M65. It runs my notebook for about 3 hours before being totally drained.
Make sure to read the instructions. You have to charge it overnight with the notebook powered off before using.

Old battery lost charge and was looking for an afforable alternative for a battery..came across this and "KABAMM!! THANK YOU MLC"... I use battery for web, streaming and watching movies, music, art, games and whatever...I get anywhere from:

2hous 45mins (High Power Screen while running apps) to
4 hours with lower screen brightness and running apps.

Strongly Recommend this product for the college student or anybody who needs a batter for a short length of time.
Greatest Investment this year so far. Even the lights on the back of the battery light up for me when i press the button to tell me whats my charge level without having to turn on the pc. Can we say...COOL!!
If you pass up this deal, then i hope you just going for a higher capacity but if not...I-YA-YA~~GO WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

Works well but could last longer (4.0)

My old battery no longer holds a charge, so it was time to purchase a new one. The 5200 mAh battery purchased serves a good purpose for lower power demanding users. Under standard usage, I can usually get around 2 hours of battery power (XP/Dell D830). I probably could have gone with the 7200 mAh battery which would last a bit longer. For the price and the quality of the product, I would recommend it to those of you in a similar situation.

Own a Dell Latitude D830 with a dead battery? (1.0)

GOOGLE first before you buy! I've owned a laptop since about 1997, nothing but Dell for 10 years. I've bought plenty of replacement batteries. Why would I think it would be a problem or more complicated than clicking "Add to Cart" and upon arrival popping it into the bay?

For starters, it provides no comfort to when I see on the battery purchased none of the same, but instead lower power specs. So is that it? Don't know. Is it the battery at all or is it the connecting wires from the battery contacts in the laptop to the motherboard? Could be, so says plenty of people on Google...again, don't know.

Who likes dealing with product returns and not knowing what works (in my opinion, a quality company, should there be a pervasive hardware issue with the Dell Latitude line, i.e., connecting wires/battery contacts, has the obligation not to hang a sign out selling batteries without full disclosure of the known issue - in other words, caveat emptor - "buyer beware" does NOT apply, IF the company knows about a potentially pervasive hardware issue and the consumers do NOT.
